There are many variations of Poker. The most common is known as “poker.” It is a card game in which players make forced bets (called blind bets or antes) at the beginning of each round. Each player is dealt two cards face down and one card face up, called cards. The dealer then shuffles the deck and deals the cards to the players one by one. The cards may be dealt face up or down, depending on the type of poker being played. The hand that develops the best hand between two consecutive rounds of betting is called a “high hand”.
There are various forms of poker. All involve betting, and most games are played with a standard 52-card deck. The number of cards in the deck varies according to the variant, but the top card is called the “high hand” (A). The rest of the cards are called “low cards” (K, Q, J), or ace-high. Some variants use 53 cards, while others use a single joker.
Some variations have betting intervals. For example, in Omaha-style poker, the first bet is made by one player. In all poker variants, each player has the privilege of putting in the first bet, but is also required to raise their chip count equal to that of the players before him. If the player bets before another player, he is considered an “active player.” The next time he puts in chips in the pot, he will be considered an “active player.”
