A player may raise a bet if he thinks his hand is better than the previous bettor’s. He can do this by betting more than his opponent’s ante. However, he must bet enough to cover the ante.
One of the most important aspects of the game of poker is to watch the cards closely. Sometimes the cards will tell you something about the other players. For instance, if someone is bluffing, he or she may hold their breath and freeze. This allows him or her to make a low-risk bet, but it also allows the other players to see how bad his or her hand is.
