In a slot machine, a player inserts cash or, in the case of “ticket-in, ticket-out” machines, a paper ticket with a barcode into a slot and activates a reel-spinning mechanism that displays symbols. The machine then evaluates the combination and credits the player’s account based on the paytable. Most slot games have a theme, and the symbols used in them vary according to that theme.
