A player can win by making three of a kind with his cards, but a straight starting with an ace wins.
The lowest possible hand in a game of poker is a pair of aces or two pairs of the same suit. In some games, an ace may be treated as a low card. For example, a seven-five-four-three-aces is a low hand. However, two aces is the lowest pair.
After the dealer deals out five cards, each player may choose to bet or pass. Bets are placed in the center of the table. Players must then show their cards to determine the winner. A player may bet two chips, five chips, or ten chips. However, he or she cannot bet more than the amount of chips in the pot. However, he or she must first put in the number of chips required to call the previous bet. A player can raise up to ten chips when he has four of a kind or higher.
